When Chulbul Pandey takes center-stage in the fight, pieces of wood, cracks of bottles and villains fall like flies. After all, as shown in Prabhu Deva’s Dabangg 3, Salman Khan’s character is not just another ordinary cop but a desi hulk who can easily kill hundreds of villains on his own.

Salman, who makes a comeback as a dirty, corrupt cop with a hood like Robin Hood in Dabangg 3, is in superb form. He is a larger-than-life super cop who is a very romantic and devoted husband to wife, Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha) and a total family man. So what if Munna Badnaam Hua has a tendency to shake her feet at the club with Varina Hussain? After all, who better to turn on ‘Item Boy’ than a muscular Khan who still looks stunning at 53?
Was it right to wait for Dabangg 3, that is the question? If you are a fan of Khan, the answer is a resounding, yes. There is more than enough to keep you on-screen – high octane action, engaging dialogue, laughable comic scenes and romantic moments. All Dabangg 3 has a well-packed entertainment.

Prabhu Deva fits exactly what he promised Salman Khan’s fans with Dabangg 3. The icing on the cake is that of Kannada superstar Kicha Sudeep, who plays Chulbul’s arch-nemesis, Bali Singh. Sudeep is effective and influential as the villain, who comes to cheer Chulbul’s love interest. Sari Manjrekar, who made her Bollywood debut with this film, has worked as a village vine with the ambition of becoming a doctor. Sonakshi is as chirpy and feudal as Razjo as usual and Arbaaz Khan as Chulbul’s brother Makki is also present.

Which leaves us with Khan, who should have looked ridiculous seeing the same character of the man in khaki, and was romancing with a 20-girl (Khushi) over him, but Salman’s fascination is such that he makes it easy Pulls out of.

And if you are looking for some social message to go with the spice elements, it has loaded. From a statutory warning against cigarettes and gutkha demanded by Khan, his anti-dowry stance and a message on water conservation and digging on demonetization at the very end, the film got enough of a message.

The only loose plot point, as far as we are concerned, is the fact that Rajjo is shown to be oblivious to Chulbul’s past love interest, which is especially strange considering that the two women knew each other. There are also awkward moments when Chulbul forces the two men to kiss each other and their observations about how an overweight woman would lose weight, both of which are highly inappropriate.

If you are a fan of Salman Khan’s films, which is formulaic just like his arrival, then you will no doubt be a part of it. Even if you do not consider yourself a fan, you will find Dabangg 3 a highly entertaining masala film which is true to its genre. Can anyone expect more from Salman Khan’s film?
